Yoga Club

Yoga Poses  Welcome to Yoga Club!

Yoga is for all types: athletic to "can't touch my toes".  The sessions accommodate all abilities.

I'm the club sponsor (Mrs. Messmore) and I lead the practices.  I've been practicing yoga since 2005, and although I'm no "master yogi", I enjoy the opportunity to share my practice, and be with people who want to learn all the benefits of yoga!

THIS 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR, you have 2 options to participate in Yoga Club!

We will meet every other Friday during CORE in room 1248 or 1250 to have a short session that will focus on seated stretching, breathing, and maybe some light meditation.  We will not use mats, and everyone can come as they are! 

The dates for Fridays are the following:

8/27, 9/10, 10/8, 10/29, 11/12, 12/3, 12/17, 01/07, 01/21, 02/04, 03/04, 03/18, 04/15, 04/29, 05/13


ALSO, Our group meets every THURSDAY throughout the school year, 3:50-4:50pm to have a full hour to deepen our practice!  This session will require your own mats, comfortable clothing, AND transportation after the session.

We will meet either in the LGI or one of the common spaces, however, we might move locations based on availability.

We combine our workouts with our teacher group.  It makes for a nice large group and lots of new friendships! 

New members are always welcome, even if it is just to try!

All participants, and their parents/guardians, MUST fill out a consent form, prior to coming to a session. 



In addition, this year we will be requiring that everyone bring their own mat.  I will have mats available to borrow, and students will be required to wipe them at the end of each session, but the teacher is not responsible for mats that are not wiped down properly at the end of a class. 

Items to bring to a THURSDAY session:
Comfortable (and fitted) clothing
Yoga Mat
Optional: eye pillow (for relaxation)
Optional: yoga block (for difficult balances)
Optional: yoga strap (for binds and big "reaches")
