My name is Carrie Larrison and I am one of the school counselors at WHS! I serve students in grades 9-12 whose last names begin with the letters B-E. As a counselor, we assist students with academic planning, college and career readiness, and assisting with social or emotional issues.
I have been a counselor at WHS since 2005 and before that, I was a counselor at WMS for 8 years, and a math teacher for 11 years. Yes, that means that this is my 32nd year in education! I am a graduate of Ball State University with Human Resource Management as my major and Counseling Psychology as my minor. I then returned to Ball State and earned my degree in Secondary Mathematics Education. In 1997, I graduated from IUPUI with my MS in School Counseling.
Some of my other counseling duties include: serving as our school AP Coordinator, 21st Century Scholar coordinator, building our master schedule each year, and working with Mrs. Vondersaar on our Financial Aid presentations. For professional development, I attend many college presentations each year, as well as workshops sponsored by 21st Century Scholar and ISFAA (Indiana Student Financial Aid Association).
Outside of school, I love to bake (luckily, I like to work out too), and spend time with family and friends. My husband, Jeff, and I have 4 children who have all graduated from Westfield High School, and 2 adorable grandsons!
