About me: I was born in Texas and but have lived in Indiana since age 2. I discovered my love for teaching when I was in high school as I began to tutor kids in music lessons. I grew up in a musical family where we were encouraged(required:) to try music lessons. I enjoyed the rewards of playing at age 10 when I started playing piano and then percussion a couple years later. After graduating from Highland High School in Anderson, I attended Anderson University where I decided to pursue music education and a psychology minor. Throughout college, I joined a band that lead worship and played for camps-one of which being Spring Hill in Michigan. After graduating from Anderson, I taught middle school music in Anderson for three years. Then, I completed my Master's Degree at Butler University. During this time, I was on the adjunct faculties at Anderson University and Marian University. I have had the privilege of serving as the general music teacher at WHS since 2008. My classes include Steel Pan, AP music theory, Bach to Rock, electronic music, guitar, and piano. I am also the sponsor for the music theory quiz bowl. You can follow me on Twitter = @jeffreydmac
When I am not here at WHS, I enjoy time with my family. I have been married to Sarah for 15 years this year! We have 5 children- two of which are baby twins.(see photo) I love to cook, hike, camp, garden, read, and do yoga.
