Westfield High School

"The Earth without Art is just Eh."

Originally from Ohio, I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Art Education from Miami University of Oxford (Go Redhawks!), and finished my Masters of Science in Secondary Education at IUPUI in 2011. I have been teaching at Westfield High School since 2005, and I am currently the primary "3D" Art Teacher.  I'm happily married to my math-teacher husband, and we have 2 beautiful sons, Jackson and Michael.  We also have two furry-children named Bernice (St. Bernard) and Eleanor (Lab mix).

As an artist I enjoy anything where I can get my hands dirty and keep them busy.  I enjoy oil painting and watercolor, charcoal and pastel drawing, throwing pottery on the wheel, and making beaded jewelry.  I've dabbled in glass lamp-work, metal-smithing, bronze casting, wood and stone carving, photography, and printmaking.

In my free time (if I find any!), you can find me playing with our sons and pups, being with friends and family, and, if I get the chance, traveling and skiing!  I can proudly mark off three continents, two of which I've skied on.

Over the past few years I have been working on integrating more technology into my classroom, while not losing the best aspect of of art: hands-on creation and experience.  Enjoy the site!
