Westfield High School would like to congratulate Art Teacher, Lindsay Frey and WHS Counselor, Christy Ulsas! Both educators have been selected to receive a 2017 Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Fellowship!
Lindsay Frey, an art teacher at Westfield High School has received a Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Fellowship. With a grant of $12,000, Lindsay will travel to the East Coast and attend chalk pastel workshops in Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.
Christy Ulsas, School Counselor at Westfield High School in Westfield, IN, has received a Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Fellowship. With a grant of $12,000, Christy will travel to Brisbane and Cairns, Australia where she will volunteer at animal conservation and rehabilitation projects. She will travel in the summer of 2017 to work with kangaroos, wallabies, sea turtles and other animals through the Oceans 2 Earth volunteer program.
Lindsay and Christy are two of only 100 educators receiving grants through the 2017 Teacher Creativity Fellowship program. These K-12 educators work in a variety of schools in Indiana, including traditional public schools, charter schools and private schools – both religiously affiliated and independent. Since the Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Fellowship program began in 1987, more than 2,900 Indiana teachers, principals, guidance counselors and media specialists/librarians have received fellowships.
